12Flat Labs - another first. No matter how you skin it, the new "Video Mailer" stacks up a winner. With some tedious AS3 coding, Gigya's Wildfire technology and now an embedded "Mail Chimp" campaign and form.

The beauty of the skinnable social forms is that they can be incorporated right inside your Facebook business pages, and the smaller versions right inside the timeline itself. Just fill one of them out and get on our mailing list and we'll show you to the code to implement them or you can hire out our integration services.

As always, thanks for stopping by to see what we're up to this month.

the "ledge"

At the other end of the "Evolving Spectrum" mentioned in a lot of social media articles online, lies a niche where analytics are being deeply integrated. In a below the radar beta we have enabled the transport of 250K pieces of media into pure cyberspace, where opaque tracking pixels and AS3 code pick up geo data and (social) network firing of embedded links including meta data. The method we deploy has inherent dual redundancy which resolves any ambiguity of the analytic itself. When you strip out the overall virility versus events being fired manually by the consumer/user, you see the impact [or lack of] in your campaign. It simply works. One of our AS3 trackers, the GAforFlash analytic and library portion we use is a widely underutilized element which has not been modified since it’s release in 08. Amazing.

What does this really mean? The model rids the client of the monetization issue spoken of, by bringing the traffic to a conversion point where the consumer see no ads. The social media “object” was the ad itself which appears to the consumer directly in timelines on Facebook profiles and pages to consumer interaction and insights from a robust back end. On the other hand, Twitter allows us to engage with the same objects (media) via a short link to it in raw form and to transport it into their own Facebook profile to share. SEE, there is a use for Twitter. Given the fact that we can garner for you probably 30,000 views of your media in the first month* following your campaign launch. (*Typical - by FTC rulings on what we publish).

Instructions for usage are pretty straight forward, click on the top tab "Target your Customer" in the widget below, see some cool media, click on media and launch hyperlink we assign in the backend, any site/url (no porn guys). Close the player by clicking the "Return" icon, upper left. Open the "Share" icon, lower right and post/bookmark or email the widget to over 70 social networks, your entire gmail account (API throttles limits, so under 200 would be a fair start, MSN Hotmail/Live, Yahoo, Aol and any individual email address works. We count viral "Grabs" with the tracking "CID" (content id) and over 270 other metrics when combined with the AS3 gaForflash installed for the redundant geo/network and firing sequence events.

Click on the "Start the Conversation" link in the player for a short screencast on metrics, actually it's probably better to watch it in an HD player here - http://cto.12flat.com/HDplayer. Just go out and have fun with it, you can't break it and give us a call if you're struggling with Social Media - It's really a Geek thing rather than all the hype you hear out there. The widget below is embedded in an embedded Apture wrapper, which shows you a few more links at the bottom. It will shed the Apture coating outside my site here. Cool stuff, we think. We do so much more and value our select clientèle - there are so many guru's with a few good tech people wedged in - ask the right questions and see what you come up with. Look at the incredible opportunity it has presented everyone, and we all don’t have to be marketers to enjoy it. Lord knows, I'm busy enough. Cheers to all. Hey, follow me on Twitter if you feel like it @12flat.

12Flat is the office of technology at DMS Communications in Windsor Ontario Canada.

How is business going to change again due to the social "conversations" of 2009, to an all out superiority brawl in 2010?

Visionary engineers turned the tables on the high financiers in the nineties, when Jim Clark of Netscape altered the landscape of silicon valley. Engineering, graphics and processor power - coming of age. The "New New" Thing (book) opened my eyes several years ago about what transpired.

Virtualization is a term that refers to the abstraction of computer resources:

This is cool, just hover your mouse over the little book icon here: - Virtual machine (VM)

That means you don't have to own it to use it. You may have to pay for it, but then you don't have to maintain it. "Scalable" is a great word that geeks love to talk about. Scalable means that if KLM wants to adopt Google apps for 11,000 employees in the next 60 days, it can be delivered. Google wouldn't do that if they didn't base their own infrastructure using the same applications they developed.

The playing field's quite narrower than what most people understand. Books and millions of sites are re-creating conversations about "How to use Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin" to leverage a business. Hype mostly. I say, "re-creating" because a lot of the sources are just mimicking as correspondents. You could say that about me too, but give me five more minutes of your time and it might be an eye opener.

Consumers do NOT want to know what an API is, and have no desire to understand them. Simply, an API means that I don't want or need your credentials to communicate with you. It's an Application programming interface (wikipedia).

Instead of talking about it, let's just ride with it. If you have a Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, Google acount (or several other methods), your in! Just click on your choice in the right sidebar and follow the brief process. Then come back to read the rest when your done that. See you in a few shakes!
